Why...?
We live in a world where perfection is constantly performed. Through social media, public image, and everyday expectations, we carefully curate how we are seen. We edit, filter, and shape our identities until they become polished versions of ourselves.
But perfection is not who we are.
Every person is unique, shaped by their experiences, emotions, strengths, vulnerabilities, and the moments that have defined their life. It is these imperfections, contradictions, and deeply personal stories that make us human.
Portraits of Truth began from the belief that photography has the power to move beyond appearances. Rather than documenting the image people present to the world, the project seeks to reveal something more genuine: the individual behind the curated version of themselves. Each portrait is an invitation to pause, to let go of expectations, and to exist honestly in front of the camera. The goal is not to capture perfection, but authenticity—to create a space where emotions, memories, and personal truths can emerge naturally.
As the project evolved, so did its central question.
Instead of asking "Who are we behind the image we create?", it began asking: "How do we want to be remembered in 23 years?"
A portrait is more than a photograph taken in a single moment. It is a record of who we are, what we value, and what we hope will remain after time has changed us.
Twenty-three years from now, our appearance will inevitably be different. Our lives may have taken unexpected directions, and many of today's moments will have become memories. Yet the values, emotions, and truths that define us have the potential to endure.
Each portrait therefore becomes a message to the future—a visual time capsule that preserves not perfection, but authenticity. It asks the viewer, and the person being photographed, to reflect on what truly matters beyond appearance.
